HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanks to many of you, Stop Handgun Violence raised $10k for our online year-end appeal. We are grateful that our supporters continue to prioritize our work to save lives from gun violence.
We also launched a NEW website! We think it’s pretty amazing – let us know what you think.
- Last Fall, Waltham Democratic City Committee hosted a panel discussion on the rising gun violence epidemic and post-Bruen landscape with Middlesex County D.A., Waltham Police Chief and School officials, and leadership from Moms Demand Action and Stop Handgun Violence.
- ICYMI, Gen Z voters were essential in the November 2022 election and Georgia Senate December runoff!
- California Firearm Violence Research Center at UC Davis of Emergency Medicine created the BulletPoints Project, and refers to SHV victim stories. Listen to the first podcast episode here.
Twitter is no longer a platform that suits our community. Please find us on Facebook, Youtube and Instagram!
December 30, 2022
We’re happy to announce that Sonya Yee Coleman will step up as our new Executive Director.
Sonya has been advocating for gun violence prevention in Massachusetts since 2012. She joined Stop Handgun Violence in 2018 by volunteering to help organize student-led events, such as Town Hall for Our Lives and the 50 Miles More protest march.
We’re thankful that she’ll carry on the torch for SHV. Please join us in welcoming Sonya as new Executive Director with a donation!
Thank you all for your continued support and have a safe and peaceful New Year.
